In 2003 Les Arcs and La Plagne were linked by a fantastic new cable car called the Vanoise express. This links the two areas together and provides in total more than 420km of pistes.
The ski range is from 1300 meters to over 3200 on the glaciers of Bellecote.
The lift company has invested heavily in new chairs and high speed lifts and extensive snow making equipment and this makes skiing back into Montalbert guaranteed.
For Beginners
This area is a great place to start off. Montalbert's has a Ski School will start your lessons on the gentle (green) slopes into the village. Thereafter you will soon be taken up to several of the 'blue' runs back into the village and then up into the vast area of the La Plagne bowl where you can enjoy more experienced skiing after just a few days.
For Intermediates
With plenty of blue and red slopes to leisurely cruise or practice your technique, La Plagne is known as an intermediates paradise. You can easily spend all day skiing slopes and visiting the many restaurants and bars on the pistes.
For Experts
A great variety of runs will challenge the fitter experts. There are some great mogully reds, some serious long black runs and some very entertaining off-piste.
Hire a guide and you'll discover and venture further through even more untracked areas.
Snow Boarding
Snow boarders are well catered for on the pistes and especially with the 'Snow Park' and a half pipe located at La Plagne.
